We Help You Navigate The Health Insurance Marketplace
The Affordable Health Care Act helps individuals and families by providing the following that include, but are not limited to:
- Access to affordable health insurance plans
- Coverage for pre-existing conditions without higher premiums or denial of coverage
- Preventive services, such as vaccinations, screenings, and annual check-ups
- Subsidies and tax credits to lower monthly premiums & out-of-pocket costs
- Maternity & newborn care, mental health services, and prescription drug coverage
- Improved access to emergency care services
Health Insurance may be more affordable than you think. Subsidies may provide cost assistance on your premium and out-of-pocket expenses – based on your income.

Health Insurance Open Enrollment
Health Insurance Enrollment Period is a designated time each year when individuals and families can sign up for or make changes to their health insurance plans.
This period, known as Open Enrollment, typically occurs in the fall and is the primary opportunity to review your current coverage and make any necessary adjustments to ensure your health needs are met for the upcoming year. At McLeod Insurance, we are committed to helping you navigate this critical timeframe with ease.
Special Enrollment Periods
Special Enrollment Periods (SEPs) provide a crucial opportunity for individuals and families to obtain health insurance outside the standard Open Enrollment Period. Life can be unpredictable, and certain events may necessitate a change in your health coverage. Qualifying events such as marriage, the birth of a child, loss of other health coverage, or relocation can trigger an SEP, allowing you to enroll in or change your health insurance plan.
Our knowledgeable agents are here to guide you through the process, ensuring you take advantage of these critical periods to maintain continuous and adequate health coverage. Whether you’ve experienced a significant life event or simply missed the Open Enrollment deadline, we’re here to help you navigate your options and secure the health insurance you need.

The Health Insurance Marketplace, also known as the Exchange, is a service available in every state that helps individuals, families, and small businesses shop for and enroll in affordable health insurance. The Marketplace offers a variety of health plans from different providers, allowing you to compare options based on price, benefits, quality, and other important features.
Health Insurance Marketplace open enrollment is a specific period each year when individuals and families can sign up for health insurance or make changes to their existing plans. It's an opportunity to get coverage or modify your current plan to better suit your needs. You can enroll in a health plan through the Marketplace during the Open Enrollment Period, which typically runs from November 1 to December 15 each year. If you miss this period, you may still be able to enroll if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period due to a qualifying life event such as marriage, birth of a child, or loss of other health coverage.
Open enrollment starts on November 1st, 2023 and ends on January 15th 2024.
The Marketplace offers four levels of health plans: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. These plans vary in terms of cost and coverage. Bronze plans have lower monthly premiums but higher out-of-pocket costs, while Platinum plans have higher premiums but lower out-of-pocket costs. There are also Catastrophic plans available for individuals under 30 or those who qualify for a hardship exemption, which provide protection against very high costs.
